Founders

                                Dr. YAJUN YAN

Dr. Yan, associate professor of BioChemical Engineering at the University of Georgia. He has 13 years’ experience in various biotechnology research areas including protein engineering, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology. He has published extensively on establishing microbial platforms for the production of biofuels, renewable chemicals and high-value chemicals. The research work in his lab at the University of Georgia has led to 35 journal publications and 8 patents or provisional patents.

                              Dr. YUHENG LIN

Dr. Lin, Chief Technology Officer of BiotecEra, Inc. He received his Ph.D. degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia in 2014. His research has been focusing on microbiology, metabolic engineering, bio-catalysis and bioconversion. He has published 22 journal articles and 5 patents/ provisional patents in his fields of endeavor. Some of the technologies he developed is being commercialized by BiotecEra.

Scientific Advisors

Dr. MICHAEL W. ADAMS

Dr. Adams, Georgia Power Professor of Biotechnology and Distinguished Research Professor in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at UGA. His research has focused on anaerobic microorganisms, particularly hyperthermophiles. The research projects in his laboratory involve studying the physiology, metabolism, enzymology and functional genomics of these organisms. He has been using some hyperthermophilic organisms that are able to directly breakdown plant biomass to generate biofuels and chemicals via metabolic engineering approaches. He has been on the scientific advisory board of several biotechnology companies such as Gate Fuels, Inc.

Dr. QIPENG YUAN

Dr. Yuan, Distinguished Professor and Changjiang Scholar of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, College of Life Science and Technology. He has outstanding achievements in the field of bio-pharmaceuticals, natural product research and development, and genetic engineering drugs. Many of his research projects have been commercialized and applied by world-renown brands. He as the primary contributor was awarded the second prize of national scientific and technological progress in China. He served as a consultant or advisor for many biotech companies.
